2000-2011

The first BMAAAR was held at 4-H Camp Ohio, in St. Louisville, OH the first weekend of October 2000.   The   rendezvous is a spin off of the MAAAMR Rendezvous held the first weekend of June in Valle Cruces, NC.   After a group from Central Ohio attended that gathering they decided that the same recovery, fellowship and fun could be had in Central Ohio.  The MAAAMR in Valle Cruces, NC is a spin off of the Atlanta Men’s Workshop held twice each year, outside of Atlanta GA. Doc Crandall, who was originally from the Dayton Ohio area, started the Atlanta workshops over 30 years ago.   The first speaker in 2000 was Pat C.  Pat has passed, but we remember him for speaking to us about the Twelve Spiritual Principles and the 12 Steps of AA and AFG. The Spiritual Principles, which Pat spoke of, has become a mainstay of each BMAAAR. You will see them on the meeting room walls and on the coffee cup you will be drinking from. Since the first Rendezvous at Camp Ohio, it has been held the first weekend of October each year since.  Hopefully it will continue to grow and bring the message to others who are still suffering inside and outside the rooms of AA and AFG around the world.
